One honest caveat
Behind only shows through where the page is actually transparent.
A scanned document, or a page with a full-bleed background image, is opaque — there
is nothing for the mark to show through, and it will be hidden entirely. Use the
on-top layer with reduced opacity for those.
Angle, size and opacity
- Rotate to any angle — 45° across the page is the classic diagonal
- Any size, from a corner note to edge-to-edge
- Any colour, with a hex readout so you can match a brand grey exactly
- Opacity down to a whisper
Drag it into place on the page, resize it by its corners, and turn it with the
rotate handle — or type exact numbers if it has to land identically on every
document you produce.
Watermark the whole document in one action
Set it once and it applies to every page. Or restrict it — the current page only,
odd pages, even pages, or a custom range like 2, 5-7, 10. The preview
scrolls the whole document so you can see exactly which pages carry the mark before
you save.
Save your watermark and apply it to the next document
Save the whole treatment by name — text size, colour, angle, opacity, layer and
position — then load it on the next file. Useful when every document going out of
your office needs the same DRAFT mark in the same place.
The document you are protecting is never uploaded
There is an irony in most online watermarking tools: to mark a document as
confidential, you first send a copy of it to a stranger's server. This tool has no
upload step. The PDF is opened, marked and saved by your browser, on your machine.
