The short version
PDF Overlay is a free, browser-based tool that adds overlays — text, images and stamps — to PDF files. There is no account, no payment and no contract to govern beyond this. It is provided as-is while in beta.
Who provides it

Your content
We do not receive, store, process or have any access to the documents you open in this tool. No licence to your content is granted to us, because none is needed — your files never reach us. See Privacy.
Availability
The tool is in beta and provided as-is, without warranty. It may change, break or stop being available. Features that are free today may not always be.
Limitations you should know about
- The output is a new file. Your original is never modified.
- Placing an overlay behind page content requires the document to be rebuilt, and annotations, links, form fields and outlines are lost in that process. The tool warns you at save time. Keep your original.
- Saved configurations, colour history, your default font and any uploaded font files live in your own browser storage. Clearing your browser data deletes them, and we hold no copy.
- Adding an image of a signature is not a digital or qualified electronic signature. See Add an image.
Acceptable use
Do not use the tool to produce documents that are unlawful. Enforcement is limited by design: because nothing you stamp reaches us, we cannot see what anyone produces.

Changes
These terms change when the product does — in particular when accounts and payment arrive, at which point this page is rewritten rather than amended.
